My thoughts

The movie, The Identical, caused a lot of mixed feelings inside of me. There is a part of me that liked it and there is that other part that didn't like it. I really struggled with the idea of giving up a child and I bawled within the first 5 minutes because my emotions of my miscarriage surfaced. Basically, at the beginning of the movie, you are introduced to a couple who just had twin boys. They are so poor that the father decides and eventually the mother that they need to give up one of the twin boys to a reverend and his wife who are unable to have children. The poor couple pretend that their boy "dies" so no one will know what really happened. Then the story takes off from this scene.

I just didn't like all the sad things that happened. Lately, I just can't tolerate them and I prefer happy movies. Personally, I think the plot of the movie needed to be tweaked. I won't go in any specifics because I don't want to spoil the movie. Anyways, the actors and actresses did a great job with the acting so you weren't groaning with cheesy acting.

The Identical is a clean movie that the entire family can watch. The music was my favorite part about the movie. I loved the songs, and I really enjoyed hearing how music evolve over the decades. The take home message of the movie is that we choose our path and we ultimately choose our destination.
