Must-Have Marvin Review & Giveaway (#ShareAMoment)

My family loves books, and I especially love books that teaches a good message. So I'm super excited to share with you this cute book, Must-Have Marvin.

About the book:

Must-Have Marvin is a children's book that follows the adventures of a boy named Marvin. Marvin is obsessed with new things. Anytime he sees something new and cool, he just insists that he has to have it. Eventually, a toy robot catches his eye. He ends up spending all his money on the toy robot and soon realizes that he is not happy. With the help of a friendly elderly neighbor, Marvin realizes that his obsession to get everything he wants ruins his relationships with his family and friends. Marvin comes to learn that people are more important than things!

Must-Have Marvin is the second book in the Shine Bright Kids series.
About Shine Bright Kids:

About the author:

Christy Ziglar, financial planner, mother of twins and niece of legendary motivator and the world’s original optimist, Zig Ziglar, is bringing the same timeless wisdom and ageless advice to an entirely new, younger audience through her new Shine Bright Kids picture book series.

About the illustrator:

Thanks to her first-grade teacher, who recognized her superior skills in drawing a robin, Luanne Marten  has been drawing, painting, and sketching ever since. She is a great experimenter and has a fresh, whimsical approach that brings her characters to life.

My thoughts:

This book is recommended for children of the ages 4-8 and is 32 pages long. However, I feel that children of all ages would love reading this book!I absolutely adore this book. I loved how the book teaches the importance of people and relationships over material objects. The illustrations are beautiful and easily captivates one's attention.

My little boy just loves this book. He will pick it up many times (without me encouraging him) and sit down and flip through the pages. I will hear him "read" the book to himself. I love how Monkey gets to learn a valuable lesson while reading!

Another fun feature about this book is the "Star Search". There is a star that follows Marvin through the book. Depending on Marvin's choices, the star will look happy or sad. So after your child finds the star, you can discuss the star's mood.
