Epigenetics Review & Giveaway (#begreen, #giftguide)

About the book

The book EPIGENETICS is a global update of Darwin's book The Origin of Species. There is no other book that embraces all of the events (political, socially, biologically, nutritionally, chemically and genetically) that have been spawned since the publication of The Origin of Species by Darwin more than 100 years ago.

EPIGENETICS is required reading for the very survival of Americans and yes all of humanity - modern man has bet on the wrong horse to save them from disease and pestilence - the medical system has failed us fearfully. It is predictable that this book will impact the world of the everyday man, science, politics, social engineering and medicine to the same degree that Darwin's The Origin of Species did more than 100 years ago.

This book will be welcomed and enjoyed by religious leaders, community leaders, educators, parents and students of biology, nutrients and genetics in all forms. The general public will obviously be the larger market.

Dr. Wallach has been lecturing 300 times per year to national and international audiences for more than 20 years. Dr.s Wallach and Ma have 10 best- selling books that were self-published (the best known Dead Doctors Don't Lie -hundreds of thousands sold - a favorite with Amazon.com) and dozens of CD titles - the most listened toof which is Dead Doctors Don't Lie which has sold just short of 200 million copies - Dr. Wallach's audience is very large and very loyal.

Historically, Wallach's audiences range from 100 to 500 people, however, in the last 10 years enlarged by simulcast technology his audiences can range into the tens of thousands. For 18 years, Dr. Wallach has been the host of two one hour interactive radio talk shows that air M-F from 12:00 - 2:00 PST. Since 2011 Wallach has also been allied with the GCN radio network that has 1,342 stations.

My thoughts

As you probably know by now, I am trying to do everything I can to be healthy. I feel it is really important to watch what you consume. When I heard about Epigenetics, I wanted to read it.

This book is very long and geared more to be an academic book. The first several chapters were full of a lot of history, and it was a little boring. I wanted to learn more about medical history and knowledge instead of ancient history and witchcraft. The witchcraft was talked about because it was used as an analogy to how our current medical system is doing a "witchhunt" on alternative medical practices. I liked that analogy, but I wish the authors would have cut the chapter way down!

I also felt that the book didn't flow well. It would go in depth about a scientist and then talk a little bit about a statement on how to prevent a certain illness. So there were many times where I was wondering why certain things were included and other things were not. I feel if the book was edited so it wasn't so choppy, then it would be even better.

Epigenetics is a fascinating read about how a lot of the problems society is afflicted with is caused by mineral and element deficiencies. Wallach frequently says."You are what you absorb".  He goes on to say that people with pica, or the munchies, are eating a lot of food because they are craving minerals that their bodies need. I truly believe in this because I have noticed when I get munchies, I look at what I have been eating, and I can see how I am missing certain vitamins and minerals from my diet. Mineral deficiency problems occur a lot in areas where the soil is deficient. That makes so much sense!

Towards the back of the book, the authors discuss many illnesses, diseases, and conditions and what deficiencies cause them. I think this is a great resource for people to try treating their health problems because there are many times where doctors can't help them. The book also goes into depth about the 90 essential vitamins and minerals you need and how they help keep you healthy.

As much as I agree with health problems being linked to mineral deficiencies, I don't really think every single condition is caused my deficiencies. I just didn't agree with Wallach on all his claims. Further studies and research will need to be done. So please keep that in mind and don't blame yourself if your child has a disease or if you have a disease.

Anyways, this book is definitely a good read and you will learn a lot about how to keep yourself healthy!
